Meet The Family

I am currently in Los Angeles with Khalil finishing the Come In Peace , Prepare For War album.  With Khalil’s recent success there seems to be a heightened awareness and anticipation for our project.  Khalil has always been, and will always be, the sole producer on Self Scientific albums.  The new found spotlight that has been placed on him [Khalil] has people eager to hear what a whole album full of his production sounds like.  There is no extra pressure for us, but we are eager to release this album now that people are reacting different to our sound.  For the first three days here I recorded with Khalil just me and him and the occasional visitors that came through.  By the time we were done we came out with five really dope additions to the body of work we have been compiling for 3 years.  When we started Khalil and I would isolate ourselves and work through the night making music in the back of his parents house or at our friend and old business partner Franks’ house.  Now, Khalil has evolved to the point where Self Scientific sessions involve a team of musicians, some of which we have been working with for almost for 10 years.  These people work hand in hand with us developing the Self Scientific sound, and are just as much a part of Self Scientific as me or Khalil.  We believe strongly in developing an artistic community in which everyone plays their part, to produce quality music. . .Meet the family.

Rahki, a young producer from Minnesota who is now part of Khalil’s production team.  He is a percussionist and has a incredible ear for melody.  Extremely talented, you will be hearing a lot from him in the coming months…

Danny Keys is a from New York and is a Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter, genius…Danny lends his hands to a lot of Khalil’s recent production and has become a regular part of the team.  He and Khalil also have a project called Whale Dragon they are working on…Crazy!!

Amber is a vocalist we recently started working with her. She is also in a group..(name is slipping my mind)..and her voice is angelic and soulful.  You will hear her on our new album

and then there is Dan, Daniel Seef is like the 3rd member of Self Scientific.  He has been a part of the Self Scientific family for 10 years and is honestly a major part of our transition from the sampled compositions to more live music and original compositions.  One of the funniest people I know and a very talented musician.
