Happy Born Day…Brother Malcolm

Know the Ledge, Video No Comments

The Honorable El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz manifested himself in several different forms of us. Malcolm Little, represented all of our roots in the South. Detroit Red, represented the hustler, struggling to find his way in Americas metropolitan maze, the physical personification of the next phase…Malcolm X, the national spokesman for The Honorable Elijah Muhammad and a fearless, refined Asiatic Blackman with a heightened sense of self, and supreme knowledge.  El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz, the international thinker and wise teacher of Islam.  You will forever be appreciated and missed, because you represent us . . . .today we celebrate your existence.  PEACE.

If you know me, you know that I smoke Backwoods. People always ask me , “how did somebody from L.A. start smoking Backwoods?”.  The answer is pretty simple. I went to college in Atlanta,GA (Morris Brown) and was a vegetarian at the time.  There was a Jamaican restaurant near the AUC called Roaming Chef that I would eat Ital stew at almost everyday.  After a while I became cool with some of the Rasta brothers who frequented the spot and of course, would burn with them sometimes.  They would smoke out of all types of natural shit.. rice paper wraps, corn husks but most frequently they smoked this big ass leaf.  Fronto Leaf.  Read more

Aariona Chalom – American Lover (Prod. by DJ Khalil)

Aariona Chalom – American Lover (Prod. by DJ Khalil) from Chace Infinite on Vimeo.

My daughter is phenomenal, I know , I’m biased.  Honestly though, the kid writes  her own songs, books, and has been dressing herself since she was 2.  She is 9 now, and seems to be going through a period of great discovery and self awareness.  She has developed more complex patterns in her view of the world, and has began to ask deeper questions.  As a father this excites me because, it shows to me my child has a passion for life and the meaning behind things, rather than what is visible on the surface.  She is…a thinker, an artist even.  She channels her emotions through her creations.  I often wonder if the things her mother and I have gone through are the inspiration for some of these creations, with this song she answered my curiosity.  Within it all, if this is the way my child has channeled the emotions she was going through , I think it’s beautiful.. She wrote this song about a year ago at her grandparents (my parents’ house), and we recently shot the video for it when she visited me in New York.  My brother Wesley Clouden directed the clip , which was shot in the Lower East Side of Manhattan and DUMBO in Brooklyn…..oh yeah..her Air Jordans 1′s are killer….
